Hi
We are interested in buying a Jan van Gent from Marktplaats. The seller is in Borculo.
We can drive over to collect it but it adds a lot to the price of the tent!
It you know someone who lives near Borculo who is coming to England sometime soon it would be a great help to us if they had space to bring the tent to England - we would pay costs of course.
Thank you for reading!
Best wishes
Paul

In the topic Kaatje reference to I see you want to downgrade. To a smaller tent I presume.

Maybe we can start by helping selecting the correct model for your needs?!
So. How many people will use the tent. And were do you go camping for starters.

Yes, we are looking to downsize. Looking at the floorplans I see the Albatros is not much smaller than the vergrote zilvermiieew so we are now looking at the Jan van Gent which seems a better size for the 2 of us.

That is still very big. And the time it takes to pitch is about the same as the Vergrote Zilvermeeuw you currently have.

I think you should consider the Roerdomp or Stormvogel for instance. With a varioluifel.

Thanks. I think the Jan van Gent is better for us as it has a larger living area which we use a lot when the weather is bad and our kids and friends want to sit with us! We have got quite fast at pitching over the years!

Is it possible to peg down a variolluifel to 'seal' the tent if is very windy?

What is bad weather? Rain or cold? Because with rain and still warm you can sit outside under a varioluifel. And for wind you have to watch the wind direction when pitching. You can put it down though. But that is not what you want. I prefer to sit outside the entire vacation. Also when it rains. And I think most of us here camp like that.

Does the JvG you have seen has a varioluifel?

My daughter is living in London. I will go there - and probably by car - within the next two months. Will let you know!

And change with Harvey? His lepelaar is in between the albatros and the Jan van Gent??? And he likes your vergrote Zilvermeeuw.

We too like to be outdoors as much as possible, where we camp mostly - in Cornwall - the weather (and wind direction) is very unpredictable, so sometimes it's best to be under cover indoors! As you say the varioluifel offers a lot more shelter than our current old VZ luifel.

Yes the JvG we are looking at has a varioluifel.

Unfortunately the seller has not replied to any of my 3 messages via Marktplaats which is frustrating!
